While Coco Rocha did the near humanly impossible task of busting out a gazillion poses in the span of a minute, we were nearly distrated by her super chic neoprene dress by T by Alexander Wang. The sporty fabric was seen all over the Fall 2013 runways and guess what? You can buy the exact same dress that Coco wore in yesterday's episode! (After all, "The Face" stylist Patti Wilson did tell us that she dressed the coaches in current season pieces.)
While we did feel a little bad for Karolina getting bitched out by a feisty Naomi in the premiere of "The Face," we have to say that the coach of the winning team looked amazing. She looked very polished in an arty-Western print shirt by Francesco Scognamiglio tucked into charcoal pencil skirt by Robert Rodgriguez. Lace-up booties, also by Scognamiglio, completed the ensemble. While KK's outfit was painstakingly put together from runway looks handpicked by celeb stylistPatti Wilson, don't fret. You can get something similar, right here:
Not only does "The Face" have supermodel icons Naomi Campbell, Karolina Kurkova and Coco Rocha in "the front of house" in fashion speak, behind the scenes, legendary fashion stylist Patti Wilson was creating the stellar, droolworthy looks seen on the show. Wilson's a really big deal in the fashion world (and the nicest person, by the way). She began her prolific career in the 90s at the cutting edge i-D magazine and Vogue Italia. Since then, she's styled major star power, including Lady Gaga, Brad Pitt, Rihanna, Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys and Dakota Fanning and worked with big time photographers like Terry Richardson, Ellen von Unworth and Steven Meisel (who Coco credits as making her career). Now she's working on our little ol' show, "The Face," and took the time to share some incredible stories (Cameron Diaz dress 911!), plus insight on how this whole styling for TV really works.
In one episode of "The Face," the supermodels-in-training are tested on their ability to look sexy (more on this later!). And who better to teach them than Coco Rocha? Sporting an athletic-looking T by Alexander Wang dress and a ponytail, Coco could pass for a stunning tennis player if the eye glasses and red lipstick didn't scream "SEXY LIBRARIAN." Check out behind-the-scenes pics of Coco during a photo shoot on the roof of "The Face" set. You'll see the supermodel running through a number of poses in her vast arsenal.
Last week, Naomi Campbell was seen wearing an Azzedine Alaia outfit. As you may recall, Alaia has been a father figure to Naomi for decades and has dressed A-listers from Madonna to Michelle Obama. "The Face's" stylistPatti Wilson keeps with the theme in episode 2 by dressing Naomi head-to-toe in an all-Alaia black outfit, including super high-heel booties, laced elbow-high gloves, an over-sized belt, and a very, very brave bodysuit.
I've had the chance to spend time on the set of "The Face," which is coming soon to Oxygen. There’s not a lot I can reveal right now, except it’s like “America’s Next Top Model” meets "The Voice" and is hosted by Nigel Barker. Thankfully, however, I can spoil all in regard to the show's clothes and accessories. And I’m happy to say "The Face" is no ordinary reality show when it comes to the wardrobe department. Let us get to the nitty gritty, starting with Naomi Campbell.
